Sponsorship

We're committed to having a positive impact on those around us. Whether that's supporting our national and local charities, helping the local community, or considering how our decisions affect the environment and our employees – we want to help.

Everywhere you turn you'll find someone doing something for the community. From three-day cycle rides and dragon boat races to poker nights and bake sales, we are proud of our diverse approach. The following reflects some of the combined activity of both companies before the merger of Just Retirement and Partnership, which completed in 2016:

Charitable Donations

In 2015/16, we made donations to a number corporate and company charities:

As well as making corporate donations, we have held other fund raising activities to raise money for these charities. Support has also been provided for employee fundraising events, including Sport Relief, Children in Need, the Macmillan Coffee Morning and Red Nose Day. We have also sponsored the yearly Dragonboat Race with St Catherine’s Hospice and fielded a team to take part.

In January 2017, we continued our sponsorship with the World Indoors Bowls Championship which is held at Potters Resort in Norfolk. This was the first time we unveiled our new Just brand to the public, along with our new social purpose which is to help 1million people tackle the challenges of later life. Our sponsorship of the World Indoor Bowls Championship will continue in 2018.

Community

It is important to us to forge links with the local community in which our offices are based.

In January 2015 we helped local indoor bowls club Donyngs, based in Redhill, to host a tournament for employees with disabilities.

The event was made possible by a funded upgrade to facilities, thanks to our sponsorship of the World Indoor Bowls Championships and partnership with the English Indoor Bowls Association. Following the upgrade, we also took 50 of the club members – most of them retirees – to the World Bowls Indoor Championships for a day.

Once again in 2015, we offered a prize fund of £20,000 as part of the annual initiative Heart of the Community. Organised by ESSN Media through the Surrey Mirror newspaper, the prize money was allocated to local projects and charity activities across areas such as environment, education and community in the Surrey area.

Schools Programme

Our employees are keen to help share their wide knowledge and experience within the communities in which we operate. The schools engagement programme offers employees the opportunity to take part in various activities in primary and secondary schools based in the areas close to our offices.

In Tower Hamlets, employees spend time at a primary school helping students with their reading. Feedback from the school has been positive and they are very keen for us to continue with this year after year.  There is also the opportunity to provide mentoring for secondary school students.

Meanwhile in Redhill and Reigate, our partnership with educational charity SATRO has continued our efforts with mentoring local high schools. Not only has this given mentees at the school extra support during their GCSE years, it has been successful in helping our employees develop transferable skills within their roles in the business.
